Trainee award winners announced

Exemplary Student Service Award – Amy Alleyne – McLaughlin Lab
In recognition of a graduate student who has surpassed expectations to help improve the graduate program.  Students must be nominated by faculty, including a brief letter of support (no more than 250 words) describing the student’s service record, leadership, and professionalism.  Students may earn this award only once.

Best Student Research Paper Award – Molly McDougle – de Lartigue Lab
In recognition of a graduate student who has published breakthrough research of high impact factor.  The paper must have been published in print (or e-published) in the previous calendar year (January through December).  Students must be nominated by faculty, including a brief letter of support (no more than 250 words) describing the impact of the student’s publication and the student’s role in data collection, analysis, and writing of the manuscript.  A PDF file of the manuscript should also be included.

Outstanding Graduate Student Award – Lisa Wilson – McLaughlin Lab
In recognition of a graduate student who has exemplified academic and research excellence in the previous year.  Students must be nominated by faculty, including a brief letter of support (no more than 250 words) describing the student’s performance in didactic coursework, their research accomplishments, and their good citizenship.

Outstanding Postdoctoral Trainee Award – Alan de Araujo – de Lartigue Lab
In recognition of a Postdoctoral Fellow who has exemplified professional and research excellence in the previous year.  Trainees must be nominated by faculty, including a brief letter of support (no more than 250 words) describing the trainee’s research accomplishments, leadership, and their good citizenship.
