Dr. Malany’s lab sends muscle tissue chips to the ISS

On July 14, Dr. Siobhan Malany’s lab launched an experimental payload containing 16 3D bioengineered muscle tissue chips to the International Space Station on SpaceX CRS-25 to study muscle biology in microgravity.

In July, Dr. Malany presented her research on muscle tissue chips in space at the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) in Athens, Greece and at the ISS Research and Development Conference in Washington, D.C.
